Announcing a Leadership Transition: Dr. Trish Hatch Passes the Torch to Dr. Danielle Duarte
We are proud to announce a leadership transition as our founder, Dr. Trish Hatch, moves into a new role as the Board Chair and passes the torch to Dr. Danielle Duarte, the new President of Hatching Results.

Dr. Hatch, who co-authored the original American School Counselor Association (ASCA) National Model®, founded Hatching Results in 2003 and has served as the President and CEO for more than twenty years. Dr. Hatch has dedicated her career to advancing the profession of school counseling and developing comprehensive, data-driven school counseling programs that have positively impacted school counselors and the profession nationwide. She has received numerous state and national awards and recognitions, including three lifetime achievement awards and the honor of serving as a consultant to the Obama Administration’s Reach Higher Initiative.
As she transitions to her new role as Board Chair, Dr. Hatch expressed great pride in our team's remarkable impact in recent years and is confident in the continued growth and innovation that Dr. Duarte's leadership will bring.

I had the joy of mentoring her and witnessing her rise into distinguished leadership roles both within the company and the profession. Her exceptional collaboration, communication, vision, and sparkling enthusiasm have always set her apart.”

Dr. Duarte has been part of the Hatching Results team in multiple positions for more than 10 years, including serving as the first Director of Professional Development in 2016 when the company only had four employees. During that year Trish and Danielle were delivering 90% of the professional development together, traveling throughout California and to multiple states across the country. Some highlights from that time include thrift shopping due to lost luggage in Indiana, where Trish found a silly oversized blazer she enthusiastically wore to training the next day, riding bikes along the coast in Santa Barbara after working with the district’s counselors, digging through a high school’s garbage bins for Danielle’s lost car keys, and having breakfast burritos fly off the roof of our rental car one rushed morning. We sure had fun!
“I was thrilled when Danielle completed her doctorate and chose to return to us,” Hatch said. “The scaffolding began, and she quickly became the ‘heir apparent’ and clear choice to succeed me as President.”
As Chief Operating Officer (COO), Dr. Duarte has played a fundamental role in the company's growth and milestones. In the past few years, Hatching Results has grown exponentially. We currently employ 22 salaried team members and more than 30 external employees. Similarly, the number of partners we serve has increased from 68 in 14 states to more than 100 in 23 states. As COO, Dr. Duarte has been key in managing the complexities of significant company growth.

Dr. Duarte has a proven track record of supporting and improving school counseling programs. She worked as a school counselor and adjunct faculty member, teaching future school counselors at multiple universities. Dr. Duarte wrote and oversaw a large federal school counseling program grant in her former district and served as the President of the California Association of School Counselors (CASC). She earned her Doctorate in Education Leadership (Ed.L.D.) from Harvard University, where she focused on leadership, entrepreneurship, and finance. These and other experiences have fully equipped her with the skills necessary to lead the team at Hatching Results.
In her new role as President, Dr. Duarte will add to the company's legacy of excellence while continuing to infuse forward-thinking strategies. For example, she will continue to strive for Hatching Results to become a deliberately developmental organization that honors team member strengths and supports employee well-being. Another initiative is implementing the latest project management systems to streamline internal operations and improve efficiency. Furthermore, she plans to broaden our impact by expanding partnerships and upholding Hatching Results’ excellent reputation within the field of education.

Over the past two decades, Hatching Results has grown into a premier, nationally recognized professional learning organization that empowers school counselors and administrators through comprehensive data-driven practices. As founder, Dr. Hatch’s work as the co-author of the original ASCA National Model® and multiple co-authored textbooks (including two with Dr. Duarte as a co-author) on the use of data in school counseling has been pivotal in advancing the profession. Her contributions built a strong foundation for our continued success.
As we move into this new era for Hatching Results, our commitment to excellence, innovation, and positive impact remains steadfast. The collaborative spirit and vision shared by Dr. Hatch and Dr. Duarte will enable a seamless transition and a bright future for Hatching Results and the districts, regions, state departments, and organizations we serve.
