OVERVIEW

Designed specifically for comprehensive school counseling program (CSCP) staff, this 5-part mini-series will guide you through a data project to address a gap that exists in your school’s student achievement, behavior, or attendance data. The series is intentionally designed to conclude in January so participants can share their results with their school community during National School Counseling Week, February 3-7, 2025.

DATES, TIMES, & Session OBJECTIVES

Participants will engage in an action research cohort consisting of five 1-hour webinars from October 2024 to January 2025. All sessions are conducted virtually through Zoom.

Part 1: Identifying Gaps in the Data October 10, 2024

  • Identify evidence of disproportionality
  • Select a target group for intervention
Part 2: Finding the Root Cause October 31, 2024

  • Integrate root cause analysis into our Tier 2 approach
  • Align interventions to the root cause for maximum impact
Part 3: Developing Meaningful Pre/Post Tests November 14, 2024

  • Draft measurable pre/post questions that align with intervention objectives
  • Develop systems that maintain the integrity of the pre/post process
Part 4: Determining Impact from Interventions January 9, 2025

  • Determine whether the intervention worked based on analysis of student data
  • Determine whether to adopt, adapt, or abandon the intervention
Part 5: Sharing Results of Closing the Gap Efforts

What is included?

  • 5 virtual, 1-hour sessions

  • Session recordings: access all session recordings for 3 months after the cohort concludes *Recordings will be available approximately one week after each session.

FACILITATORS

This cohort is facilitated by two Hatching Results staff members who are former School District Leaders!

Whitney Triplett, Executive Director, Strategy and Development

Whitney is a vision-driven leader with a passion for promoting equity, access, and the success of all students through the intentionality of transformative school counseling. Through her role as an Executive Director at Hatching Results, Whitney provides school counseling strategy support to the organization, as well as school districts, county offices, and state departments across the nation. She loves facilitating professional learning for school counselors, building administrators, and others working to impact student outcomes in a measurable, meaningful way through comprehensive school counseling programming.

Mindy Willard, Director, Outreach and Engagement

Prior to her position as the Director of Outreach and Engagement at Hatching Results, Mindy provided support to 50 school counselors while serving as the School Counseling and Transitions Coordinator for the Madison Metropolitan School District in Madison, WI, the second largest school district in the state. During her tenure in Madison, Mindy co-led College, Career, and Community Readiness school-based teams, focusing on fostering coordinated and systemic collaboration across roles. She championed the reduction of middle school counselor ratios by 50%, advocating for the addition of 6 new school counselors and designed professional learning for counselors and administrators aimed at closer alignment with the ASCA National Model.

Cancellation Policy

Your online registration is binding and you are responsible for the cost, whether paying by purchase order or credit card. Unlike in-person conferences, this virtual conference is curated and session recordings will remain accessible to paid registrants for three months. Accordingly, there will be no refunds. However, registrations are transferable. To submit a one-time registration transfer request in writing, contact admin@hatchingresults.com by September 10, 2024.
